Glad Tidings of Easter
"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace: that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation..." - (Is.52:7).
"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this days in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord" - (Lk.2:10,11).
"And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again..." - (Acts 13:32,33).
The glad tidings of Easter, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, is the goodest and greatest tidings ever heard on planet earth. By repenting of our sins and believing in Christ in our hearts by faith we can conquer death and hell and have eternal life. It's the glad tidings of Easter tide and the marvelous grace of God in His dear Son. God sent His beloved Son down to earth to solve man's greatest problem, sin and the punishment of sin which is death. That's what Easter is all about. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" - (Jn.3:16). It's the glad tidings of the gospel of Christ, God's glad message to this sinful world.
Everyone that is truly saved, and has believed the gospel of the kingdom, will be a priest and a king in the kingdom of God on this earth when the Lord Jesus returns as the King of Kings and rules over the earth forever in righteousness and justice. "...Preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God” - (Lk.8:1).
God began the glad tidings of the gospel of His Son by sending the Angel Gabriel to Zacharias the priest while he was burning incense in the temple and told him that his wife would bear a son in her old age who would be John the Baptist and that he would go before Christ to prepare His way - "...I am Gabriel that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to shew these glad tidings" - (Lk.1:19). Next, an angel was sent to the shepherds in the field who told them that Christ the Savior was being born in Bethlehem - "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord" - (Lk.2:10,11). Glad tidings indeed. The gladdest tidings that were ever heard on planet earth.
And then when Christ was 30 years old, he began to preach and it is written - "...That he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him" - (Lk.8:1). O, yes, the beautiful feet of preachers that preach the glad tidings of the gospel of Christ - that we can be saved from our sins and resurrect unto eternal life through the Lord Jesus. And in 1972 I visited a church where a true preacher preached the gospel and I heard the glad tidings of Christ and I was saved and born again on March 17, 1972. PTL Jesus.
The Apostle Paul, on his missionary journeys, preached the glad tidings of the gospel ot the Gentiles - "And we declare unto you glad tidings..." - (Acts 13:32). Paul tells us that the gospel is "how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day..." - (I Cor.15:3,4). There is no more important message that needs to be heard on earth than these glad tidings. Many people in America have heard the Easter story, but few have grasped the significance of it. There is absolutely no hope for man beyond the grave without Christ. There is absolutely no hope to escape the damnation of hell as just punishment for a lifetime of sin without Christ. "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation" - (Heb.2:3).
The Bible states that all have sinned, and that death is the punishment for our sins, both the first death and the second eternal death in the lake of fire - (Rev.20:14,15). "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin: and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" - (Rom.5:12). And (Eph.2:8,9) tells us about the grace of God in His dear Son - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
O don't spurn the glad tidings of Easter and the grace of God in His beloved Son on the cross or the wrath of God abides upon you. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" - (Jn.3:36).
It's not only the glad tidings of Easter and salvation and conquering death and getting eternal life, but it's also the soon second coming of Christ to set up His kingdom on this earth - "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever" - (Rev.11:15). It's the glad tidings of returning with Christ as a part of His great army from heaven at Armageddon as King of Kings and we shall rule on earth beneath Him - "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth" - (Rev.5:10). Yes, the glad tidings of the kingdom of God on earth. That makes me glad just thinking about it.
The Prince of Peace is coming soon. "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever" - (Is.9:7). A world of peace and no war and true justice when Christ rules with a rod of iron and all wickedness will be put down and the Devil is imprisoned in the bottomless pit - PTL Jesus.
When you're saved, there is a great change in you, you become a born again new creature in Christ having eternal life. The Holy Spirit baptizes you into the true church of Christ not made with hands - (2 Cor.5:17) and (Jn.3:6,7). Repent of your sins and believe in Christ in your heart by faith and you will receive forgiveness of sins and be saved from hell, and be born again. I beseech you in Christ's name, receive the glad tidings of Easter. Your eternal destiny depends upon it.
