The Triumphal Entry

“The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come, and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine: he washed his garments in wine and his clothes in the blood of grapes.” (Gen.49:10-11)

“Rejoice greatly, o daughter of Zion: shout, o daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just and having salvation: lowly and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” (Zack.9:9)

“Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him and cried, Hosanna: blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon: as it is written, fear not daughter of Zion: behold, thy king cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.” (John 12:13-15)

Today is the Sunday before Easter – called ‘Palm Sunday.’ Pilgrims in Jerusalem retrace Jesus’ steps from the Mount of Olives into Jerusalem with palm branches commemorating Christ’s so-called triumphal entry into Jerusalem just before he was crucified on the cross. Calling this the triumphal entry shows they have no spiritual discernment whatsoever.

This shows Jesus as a humble king and also our savior who died to save us from our sins on the cross. (Luke 19) says that the people shouted with a loud voice saying – “Blessed be the king that cometh in the name of the Lord.”

A meek and lowly king riding a baby ass with his feet touching the ground, the most humble transportation known to man. Having salvation and going straight to the cross. Oh, the humility of Christ, as it is written in (Philip.1:7-11) “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.”

Yes, the king was our savior. He has salvation. The Jews didn’t want this humble king with remission of sins. They wanted a king with power and might to ‘save’ them physically from Roman domination. They wanted a king in power and might and the lowly Jesus of Nazareth was not that sight.

But the cross comes first and then comes the crown for all of us. First the suffering then the glory. He that humbles himself shall be exalted. We need to humble ourselves and repent of our sins and believe on Christ and be saved and then we shall be kings and priests and we shall reign on the earth beneath Jesus Christ, the King of Kings.

2000 years ago, Christ didn’t enter Jerusalem upon a war horse of conquest, but upon a baby ass representing humility and salvation on the cross. The Jews couldn’t discern between the first and second coming of Christ. (Zack 9) prophesied of the first coming of the king as a lowly suffering savior, dying for the sins of the world on the cross. But (Zack.) also prophesied of the second coming of King Jesus.

(Zack.14:1-4 and 16-17) tells us about ‘touchdown Jesus’ on the Mt. of Olives as he lands on the same spot that he ascended up to heaven at his first coming – (Acts 1:11-12). This is the real triumphal entry of King Jesus. He comes back as a conquering king with many crowns on a white war horse with his army of saints from heaven and lands on the Mt. of Olives and enters Jerusalem on his white horse as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now that’s a triumphal entry – in power and great glory to set up his kingdom on earth with all the saved saints who believed the gospel of the kingdom. (Zack.14:9) says – “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord and his name one.” He will triumph over his enemies and make them his footstool – (Ps.110:1).

As it is written in (Rev.19:11-16) – “And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse: and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns: and he had a name written, that no man knew but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called the Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nation: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

At the end of the great tribulation – the king cometh. Not just as the king of the Jews but as emperor over the whole earth. He will put down the antichrist, the pretender to the throne and who is the devil’s last world emperor. As it is written, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our lord and of his Christ: and he shall reign forever and ever.” (Rev.11:15)

If we humble ourselves and be saved, we shall be exalted with Christ when he comes back. We shall be kings and priests and rule and reign with him on the earth. Can your imagine the shouting of millions of us saints and all the angels of heaven, shouting and singing and rejoicing at his second coming. Oh, the real triumphal entry is yet to come – soon. Will you take part in this triumphal entry? Are you saved? He cometh with ten thousands of his saints.” – (Jude 14), riding also on white horses behind our savior the King of Kings. I can hardly wait for this time. We ride on white horses from the touchdown on the Mt. of Olives in the triumphal entry of the king of glory into Jerusalem where he rules the earth from.

Then the remnant of Jews in Israel will acknowledge him as lord and savior and the true king and will sing and shout hosannas and they will be saved (Rom.11:26). As it is written in (Mt.23:39) “For I say unto you, ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” The same words at his second coming, at his true triumphal entry, as at his first coming on Palm Sunday tiding an ass. Hosanna is the song of triumph at his triumphal entry.

The definition of triumph is – (A ceremony attending the entering of Rome by a general who had won a decisive victory over the enemy.) Jesus comes back on a mighty white war horse at the battle of Armageddon and defeats the combined U.N. forces under the beast that have besieged Israel. Yes, a mighty conquering king on a mighty war horse – no more lowly, suffering savior on a baby ass.

The focus of the world is on Israel today as the world unknowingly awaits Jesus Christ’s army in white riding on white horses – for white is the righteousness of the saints.

Why did they throw palm branches in front of Jesus on the ass? It is written in (Jer.23:5-6) “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous branch, and a king shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, the Lord our righteousness.” The Messiah king is called the branch in bold faced capitalized print because it’s important.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our righteousness both for Jew and gentile. Oh, that the Jews would see this. As it is written, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.” (Rom.10:1-4)

He was the branch at his first coming when he died on the tree branch of Calvary for the sins of the world. And at his second coming he will be emperor who rules the earth as the executive branch and the legislative branch and the judicial branch of government. Yes, just Jesus, the just one, will bring true justice and judgment over the whole earth and he’ll be the religious ruler as well – high priest over the whole earth.

We need to watch closely the imperial presidency of the U.S. today. Will the antichrist be a president branch, who usurps the powers of the legislative and judicial branch, and rules the world for a short time as the world’s last emperor – a counterfeit branch of Christ.

Are you saved? Are you born again? Are you ready and waiting for the translation called the rapture. Become a saint of God by faith in Jesus Christ, the son of God and savior of the world. Repent of your sins and believe on Christ in your heart. “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47)

If you’re truly saved, you’ll be riding a white horse at the true triumphal entry into Jerusalem behind King Jesus at his second coming. You’ll be shouting and singing the song of triumph. The king- the branch, the savior has come back. All is finally right with the world. Amen and Amen.
