Christ Solved Man’s Greatest Problem at Easter
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” – (Rom.6:23).
Two thousand years ago God sent His beloved Son down to earth to solve man’s greatest problem, sin and the punishment of sin which is death. Sin is the cause of all of man’s problems since Adam was created. With the exception of Enoch and Elijah, every man has died because of his sins. God, the Great Physician, has told us plainly that the diagnosis of man is sin, the prognosis is death, and the remedy is the Lord Jesus Christ. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned… But we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” – (Rom.5:12,11).
Easter is God’s beloved Son becoming the Savior of the world by dying on the cross as the human atonement for man’s sins and resurrecting three days later and conquering death. Because of Christ, man can receive atonement and forgiveness for his sins and be reconciled to God and have eternal life. Man can be cured of death if he repents of his sins and believes in Christ in his heart by faith and is saved. “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” – (Jn.11:25). That is the gospel, that is what Easter is all about.
Adam and Eve committed the first sin by eating the forbidden fruit of the ‘tree’ of knowledge of good and evil, and sin is atoned for on the ‘tree’ of Calvary for all who will humble themselves and believe in Christ. And that is our great commission – “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” – (Lk.24:47). Jesus Christ is man’s only hope to solve his problem of death. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” – (I Pet.1:3). Have you been born again unto that living hope of eternal life in Christ? I’m surprised that more hopeless, unsaved people don’t commit suicide.
Do not place your faith and trust in some political leader who spouts out words to solve the nation’s problems. He has no answer to solve the problem of sin and death, because he is spiritually blind and doesn’t even know what the root problem is. Man’s sins will soon culminate in Armageddon.
Even after 2000 years, the light of Christ at Easter is illuminated around the world. The light of Christ is life in a world of darkness and death. “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” – (Jn.1:4). “That was the true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” – (Jn.1:9). But most of the world hates the light of Christ because of their sins and won’t come to the light lest their deeds be reproved – (Jn.3:19-21). Christ at Easter time is God’s neon light to the whole world that they can have atonement for sins and conquer their death and have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” – (Jn.3:15). “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” – (I Jn.5:11,12).
Each born again saint of God is God’s Easter light in a world of death and darkness. It’s not Christmas lights that we so desperately need, it’s Easter lights – amen. Death is darkness and we must preach Christ the Great Easter Light that atones for our sins and conquers our death – “…in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” – (Philip.2:15). O do not spurn the love and grace and light of His beloved Son, or the wrath of God abideth upon you. He will cast you into the lightless lake of fire for eternity – “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” – (Mt.25:30). “And whosever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” – (Rev.20:15).
We have changed the truth of God into a lie (Rom.1:25) and so sin is now called crime and brings us farther away from the truth of Christ as savior and the answer to the problem. We are calling evil good and good evil – (Is.5:10) and no longer believe in the truth of God’s Word.
The first part of Easter is the death of Christ on the cross as atonement for sin – “For the wages of sin is death…”. Man dies because he is a sinner; that is the root cause of death; it is God’s punishment for breaking his righteous laws and sinning. Sin brings the first death of the body and the second death in the lake of fire – (Rev.20:14,15). Every man is a sinner, therefore every man is headed for the grave and hell; every man is on the road to hell. You will never get away with sin. There is a payday for sin. God told Adam – “…for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” – (Gen.2:17). Adam and Eve died spiritually immediately, and their bodies started to die also.
The second part of Easter is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death. “But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” – (Rom.6:23). He is the only remedy for sin and death, and there is no other. He, and only He, is the medicine and treatment that cures death. “… I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” – (Jn.14:6). All other ways and religions are false satanic ways. And He, and He alone, is the remedy for the evil crimes committed in our towns and cities.
When a person is truly saved he become a new holy creature in Christ with the Holy Spirit indwelling him. He is baptized and washed inwardly by the Holy Spirit. God changes our sinful nature into a godly nature. “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” – (Eph.2:1-9). Man needed a Savior and God gave us His Son to save us.
We were dead in sins, and then were quickened and born again by God’s grace and our old sinful nature was changed into a divine nature – “…that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” – (2 Pet.1:4). Now this is change we can believe in. When we are born again, we become a child of God, and we are given the nature of God and we desire the things of God – we are partakers of the divine nature because the Holy Spirit dwells in us. This is what Easter is all about. We pass from death unto life when we’re born again in Christ. We have experienced our own personal Easter. Christ solves our most important problem – sin, and the punishment of sin which is death. We have passed from death unto life instantly, and one day we will be given a body like Christ’s glorious body – “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body…” – (Philip.3:21). Jesus Christ is change we believe in, not Antichrist.
Jesus said – “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” - (Rev.1:18). Again, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” – (Jn.5:24). Yes, the Lord Jesus Christ has solved man’s greatest problem at Easter: sin, and the punishment of sin which is death.
Immediately when we’re truly saved and born again, we pass from death unto life. Our new birth is the beginning of eternal life. I was born again on Mar.17, 1972 and one day I will have my one billionth birthday. On that day God, through His beloved Son, solved my greatest problem. He forgave my sins and gave me eternal life and saved me from hell, and now I’m set for eternity – PTL Jesus.
Jesus Christ has paid the ransom and the price for the punishment of our sins. “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death…” – (Hos.13:14). “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minster, and to give his life a ransom for many” – (Mt.20:28). Again – “Who gave himself a ransom for all…” – (I Tim.2:6). When Christ saves us, He pays the wages of our sins for us – He ransoms and redeems us. We who are born again are the ransomed of the Lord, and are raised from death unto life. The same God who punished our sins with death, also gave His Son as a ransom to save us from death. He died so we could be saved from death.
Have you been ransomed by the Lord Jesus? Are you saved and born again? If not, repent of your sins, and believe in Christ in your heart by faith and you will receive forgiveness of sins and be saved from hell and become a new born again creature in Christ having eternal life. Jesus said – “ye must be born again” – (Jn.3:7). The Lord Jesus is willing to solve your great problem of sin and death. Place your faith and trust in Him.
