Diagnosis - Sin; Prognosis - Death; Remedy - Jesus Christ

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord” - (Rom.6:23).

Jesus Christ came down to earth to solve man’s greatest problem - sin, and the result of sin which is death. God created Adam as a free moral person with a conscience to be able to choose good or evil. Our omniscient Creator saw the end of man 6000 years later in A.D. 2009 with 6 billion people on earth, and His diagnosis of the root cause of all of man’s problems was reduced to one word - SIN. His prognosis was, that sin would cause death to every person ever born on earth. And so God, before He created earth, prepared for us a Savior, His beloved Son, who would be conceived miraculously by the Holy Ghost in the womb of a virgin, and would die and shed His blood on the cross for man’s sins. He would offer eternal life to all who would repent of their sins and believe in their hearts in Jesus Christ by faith. God’s diagnosis of the human race’s problem is sin, and His prognosis is death and His remedy is the Savior of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

God is not only the great Creator of this world, He is also the great Physician, and He has given us His diagnosis, prognosis and remedy. Because of His mercy and grace, God has given man a chance to conquer our death and have eternal life through Jesus Christ. He is the great and merciful healer and Dr. of medicine who can heal us of death. “Heal me, O lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for thou art my praise” - (Jer.17:14). And so Dr. Luke, the physician, tells us of the Lord Jesus and His great and numerous healings. “...and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing” - (Lk.9:11). Christ healed not only the sick and dying, but He healed the dead as well. “And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak...” - (Lk.7:14,15).

But all those who were healed from sickness and death would die again and if they were not healed in their soul by Christ, they will die the eternal second death in the lake of fire. It’s the healing of the soul that is most important. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” - (Rev.20:15). Is your name written there, or are you one of the walking dead? “...and be converted, and I should heal them” - (Jn.12:40). Again, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” - (Jn.11;25). Yes Christ is the remedy for man’s greatest problem - sin and the result of sin which is death. “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” - (I Pet.2:24). Sin was started on a tree in Eden, and Christ made atonement on the tree of Calvary for sins. His tree of death, becomes the tree of eternal life to all who are saved and healed by Him.

As Jesus died on the cross it is written - “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost” - (Jn.19:30). Salvation from sin and the healing of man’s death was finished. “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death” - (Jam.1:15). Yes, God’s diagnosis of the human problem is sin, and His prognosis is death, and His remedy is the Lord Jesus.

God has written His prescription to heal death in His Word, and He has His preachers to be his assistants and preach the gospel of eternal life in His beloved Son to the whole world. He are His ‘physician assistants,’ as it were, preaching eternal life in Christ to a lost and dying world. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” - (Jn.3:16). When Christ saves us, He aalso heals us from death.

Yes, the healing of the soul is infinitely more important than the healing of the body. Jesus said - “... He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty, them that are bruised” - (Lk.4:18). Christ is not talking about physical healing, but spiritual healing of broken hearts and blind souls in bondage to sin and Satan. Then Jesus said of Himself - “... physician heal thyself...” and so He did. When they murdered Him on the cross, He raised Himself from the dead.

Are you healed spiritually? Have you been saved and born again? If not, repent of your sins and believe on Christ in your heart by faith and you will receive forgiveness of sin and be saved from hell, the second death, and become a new born again creature in Christ having eternal life. Jesus said, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh: and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee: Ye must be born again” - (Jn.3:6,7). O do not spurn the love and grace of God in His beloved Son on the cross or the wrath of God abides upon you.
