Christ - A Ransom For All
“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death” - (Hos.13:14).
“Who gave himself a ransom for all” - (I Tim.2:6).
For the last year, Somalia pirates have been going out in speedboats to hijack ships and take crew members hostage, and demand huge ransoms. The U.S. Navy on Easter, Apr.12, 2009, rescued a captain of an American ship who was kidnapped and held for ransom by these pirates. A reporter said, “The captain made a tremendous sacrifice to save his crew by surrendering himself to the pirates.” one crew member said “He saved our lives, he’s a hero. They got a man on a life boat dying so we can live.” But he didn't die. But God was showing U.S. that Christ is the true ransom for all at Easter time.
This is not the first time a powerful U.S. Naval fleet has made war against pirates. In 1804, the U.S. Navy battled the Barbary pirates off the northern coast of Africa. The pirates were demanding tribute form American ships and the U.S. dispatched marines to the shores of Tripoli. This is immortalized in the Marine Corps song.
From the halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land and sea.
Under ancient Rome, the Mediterranean Sea was infested with pirates. They grew so formidable that there were quazi-nations of them. Pirates captured and held the young Julius Caesar for ransom in 75 BC. A fleet of 270 ships under Pompey the Great cleared the entire Sea of pirates in 67 B.C. With the creation of an efficient patrol force by Augustus, Rome was able to safeguard shipping in the Sea continuously for 250 years. But in the third century A.D., piracy sprang up again as the Roman Empire declined.
Augustus Caesar was the first emperor of Rome when Christ came the first time, and he stopped the piracy and safeguarded the shipping. And now we have the USA, the last empire of Antichrist, the iron and clay feet of the Roman leg of Italy in (Dan.2), about to deal with modern-day pirates at the time of Christ’s second coming. Obama looks good by presiding over a triumphant rescue. One said - “It’s like pulling a royal flush. It just worked out beautifully for the president.” Obama said “we remain resolved to halt the rise of piracy in this region.”
Obama’s mother was from Kansas and his father was from Kenya. Kenya was where the hijacked American ship was destined. Kenya is right next to Somalia on the ‘horn of Africa.’ I studied about the Antichrist in (Dan.7) and (Rev.13) and one of his titles “the little horn.” The Roman beast had ten horns of power as the Antichrist-Beast has - (Rev.13:1,2). It is written - “I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another little horn... And behold in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things” - (Dan.7:8). Again - “and out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great... And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven...” - (Dan.8:9,10). God impressed upon me to check out the ‘horn of Africa’ and he whispered to me “What if Antichrist is a black man from Africa?”
Proud Antichrist is the little horn that becomes a big horn of power. He’s the Little Big Horn that points to the American general, George Armstrong Custer, and his pride and defeat by the Indians at the Little Big Horn. Custer had aspirations of becoming president of the U.S. Antichrist meets his little big horn at the battle of Armageddon when Emperor Jesus Christ defeats him with His army of saints from heaven.
President Obama is the symbol of black American slaves from Africa and going from the slave house to the master’s White House in Wash. D.C., and becoming the most powerful person on earth. He’s the ruler of the American Empire. He’s the little big horn who has become the biggest horn of power in the world. Are you watching? It’s quite possible that Obama will use piracy as an excuse to send U.S. troops into Somalia and devour another weaker nation as a beast of prey. Obama, the little horn, will then control the ‘horn’ of Africa, and become a bigger horn. “...and to the wicked, lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck” - (Ps.75:4,5).
Many people have paid pricey ransoms to save the lives of kidnapped people. But Christ paid the ultimate ransom price - He died so that others could conquer their death and have eternal life. “I will Ransom them from the power of the grave: I will redeem them from death...” - (Hos.13:14). “Who gave himself a ransom for all” - (I Tim.2:6). Now that’s the horn of power. It is written of Christ - “And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David” - (Lk.1:69). Only Christ has the horn of power that can save us and ransom us from death, both the first death of the body and the second death in the lake of fire. “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” - (Rev.1:18). Christ is the true “captain of our salvation” - (Heb.2:10) who died and resurrected during Easter, not Captain Phillips.
Christ is our ransom, the price of our redemption - “...he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for” - (Lev.25:51). Ransom differs from redemption in that ransom is not redemption itself, but the actual ‘price’ of redemption. The price and ransom of our redemption is the precious blood of Christ. Our ransom was not the 30 pieces of silver that Judas received from the chief priests for the betrayal of Christ, but it was the blood of Christ on the cross. In fact the scriptures very carefully tell us that the betrayal money was - “the price of blood” - (Mt.27:6). Peter said - “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold... But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” - (I Pet.1:18,19). The blood of Christ is the ransom, the price of our redemption. Christ is the ransom of redemption. His bloody death is the price for conquering our death.
Jesus Christ has paid the ransom price for the punishment of our sins which is death on the cross of Calvary. “I will ransom them from the power of the grave...” - (Hos.13:14). Again - “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” - (Mt.20:28). When Christ saves us, He pays the wages of our sins for us with His precious blood, He ransoms us - His blood is the price of redemption. We who are born again are the ransomed of the Lord, and are raised from death unto life. The same God who punished our sins with death, also gave His beloved Son as a ransom to save us from eternal death. He died so we could be ransomed from death.
If an ox should gore a slave to death, the slave’s master shall be paid 30 pieces of silver as a ransom price for his death. (Ex.21:29-32). Judas’ ‘30 pieces of silver’ was the price of the blood of Christ that ransoms us from death, both the first death of the body, and the second death in the lake of fire. We are all in bondage to sin and when we’re ransomed by Christ we are set free from the slavery of sin. Satan has ‘kidnapped’ the human race because of our sins, but Christ has paid the ransom price in full - that we who have been ‘kidnapped’ by sin might go free by faith in Christ. Christ is the ransom for all people to conquer death.
Our master was crucified for the ransom price of a slave, thirty pieces of silver, so that we who are servants of sin might be freed from the bondage of sin. It’s the Jesus jubilee - “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” - (Jn.8:36) - free from sin. “For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servant of men” - (I Cor.7:22,23). We have been bought with a very high price - the ransom of Christ on the cross, God’s dear son. Christ paid the ransom, paid the sin-debt, and made spiritual freedom and liberty possible for all who exercise saving faith in Christ.
The ransom has been paid in full by the blood of Christ. Salvation is for all, and there is no excuse for anybody dying without being saved by Christ. “Thou art inexcusable, O man” - (Rom.2:1). You will not have any legitimate excuses on your day of judgment. It cost you nothing - it’s the free gift of God - it’s God’s grace.
Obama is the first black president of the U.S. If he is assassinated and then seemingly resurrects from death, we would have a satanic counterfeit of our ransom by Christ for thirty pieces of silver, the ransom of a slave. The whole deluded, unsaved world would believe in him. He would far surpass the ‘redeemer’ president Lincoln who freed the slaves and was assassinated on Good Friday. Watch Obama closely O saint of God.
Easter is God sending His beloved Son down to earth to solve man’s greatest problem, sin and the punishment of sin which is death. Christ’s precious blood is the ransom of redemption that sets us free from the bondage of sin and Satan.
Have you received the ransom of Christ? Are you saved and born again? If not, repent of your sins and believe in Christ in your heart by faith and you will receive forgiveness of sins and be saved from hell and become a born again creature in Christ having eternal life - (2 Cor.5:17 - Jn.3:6,7). Humble yourself at the foot of the cross as Christ humbled himself on the cross - “...he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” - (Philip.2:8). “...to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” - (Is.57:15). “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased: and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted” - (Lk.14:11). Pride leads to the second death in hell, and repentance leads to external life in Heaven - The choice is yours. Christ is “the captain of our salvation” - (Heb.2:10). He sacrificed His life to save us - He’s paid the ransom price.
