From God’s Potter House to His Potter’s Field

 “Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; if that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil I thought to do unto them. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I would benefit them” - (Jer.18:3-10).

   Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders. Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood... And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood unto this day” - (Mt.27:3-8).

   Like Jeremiah the prophet, God has showed me a sermon concerning God as the Master Potter who created the heavens and the earth. God created all of His creatures on this earth out of the clay of the earth - He is the Master Potter. “I also am formed out of the clay” - (Job 33:6). Again - “but now, O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand” - (Is.64:8).

   This whole earth is God’s plantation - he planted it. And in A.D. 1607 and 1620 God decided to build and ‘plant’ the nation of the USA. He planted Jamestown, VA. Plantation and Plymouth Plantation in Mass. We were a Godly nation that produced good Christian fruit, but now we’re a wicked nation and if we don’t repent of our sins, God will soon pluck U.S. up and destroy U.S. As God told Jeremiah again - “... Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land” - (Jer.45:4). God is the great Master Potter and He has every right or destroy His evil human pottery marred by sin.

   God is the Master Potter of the universe. Each individual is clay from God’s pottery wheel. God took clay and formed the physical part of man - “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” - (Gen.2:7). God is sovereign. He has incontestable authority to form and fashion the universe to suit Himself. God created everything very good; He created nothing marred and that includes Adam. “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good” - (Gen.1:31). God created Adam a living vessel of clay.

   Charles Darwin, born the same day as Lincoln, Feb.12, 1809, was the man who started the theory of evolution and the satanic attack against God’s Word and His creation as the Master Potter. His mother’s name was Susannah Wedgwood, the daughter of Josiah Wedgwood, the celebrated Potter. The first verse in the Bible says – “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” – (Gen.1:1).

   But unlike a lump of clay, we are alive and have free will to yield ourselves to God our Potter or not, to cooperate and obey His commandments or not. But every human from Adam to this time has been marred by sin, both Jew and Gentile. “...For we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin” - (Rom.3:9). And so God has destroyed His marred vessels of clay with death. “Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” - (Rom.5:12). It’s as if every human being is laying out behind the potter’s shop broken in pieces and unfit for God’s use, laying in the potter’s field.

   But God loves us and He is rich in mercy and grace, and sent His beloved Son down to earth, born of a woman, to be our Savior and save us from our sins and make us a new creature in Christ, a new clay vessel fit for our Master Potter’s use. “And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it” - (Jer.18:4). When we’re saved by Chrisst, we are created anew, we become a new creature - “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” - (2 Cor.5:17). Christ breathes into us a second time with His Holy Spirit, a second breath of life. “... He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost” - (Jn.20:22). And so “...he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work” - (2 Tim.2:21).

   The Lord Jesus came down to earth as our Potter, and His precious blood bought the potter’s field, a cemetery, so that every one of us clay vessels would have the chance to be created anew and conquer death. “Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. (He betrayed Jesus to be hanged, and so now he hangs himself). And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, the field of blood, unto this day” - (Mt.27:3-8). Saved and created anew by the precious blood of Christ.

   Through Christ we can conquer death and have eternal life - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” - (Jn.3:16). Christ creates us anew inwardly now, and will one day fashion us a new glorified body like His - “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body...” - (Phil.3:21). PTL Jesus, our Potter, who died for us on the cross and offers us a chance to become a new vessel, fit for God’s use - a vessel of honor, and a vessel of mercy, instead of a vessel of dishonor and a vessel of wrath. “Nay but, o man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump, to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonor? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he night make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory” - (Rom.9:20-23). You can go from God’s potter’s house to His potter’s field and be born again.

   The vessels of wrath fitted to destruction are the people who have rejected God’s beloved Son and were not born again into a new vessel. And so when the Lord Jesus returns it is written - “... as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers... - (Rev.2:27). This is the language of (Ps.2), which anticipates the day when the Lord returns to smash His foes and to set up His righteous kingdom on earth. The saints who have become new vessels in Christ are going to share in that. “Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron: Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel” - (Ps.2:9). These clay vessels of wrath will get the mark of the beast in their foreheads and right hands and worship the Antichrist.

   In fact, Antichrist is prophesied by Daniel as the last emperor in Nebuchadnezzar’s emperor image dream, the feet of potter’s clay mixed with iron - (Dan.2:40). Antichrist will be the last emperor worship on planet earth and will be crushed by the true emperor, Jesus Christ at Armageddon - (Rev.19:11-21). Antichrist will be the American idol with feet of clay. His American dream will turn into a nightmare for the whole world.

   Antichrist-Beast is the most evil clay vessel of God’s wrath of all. He’s the ‘clay and iron man’ who deceives with words of unity - “but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay” - (Dan.2:43). Only Christ, not Antichrist, can give true unity and love between people of all races and nationalities who are saved and born again in Christ and have the “unity of the Spirit” - (Eph.4:3). That’s because we know that “There is one body, and one spirit, even as ye are called in the one hope of your calling: One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” - (Eph.4:4-6).

   Did you know that President Obama loves the evil boy wizard “Harry Potter” who God calls an abomination, or is it Obamanation? “Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard... For all that do these things are an abomination to the Lord” - (Du.18:11,12). Did you know that the false bishop T.D. Jakes that pastors ‘The Potter’s House,’ gave a private sermon to Obama the morning he was inaugurated as president of the U.S.A. The sermon text was (Dan.3:19) about the three faithful Jews who would not worship the image of Nebuchadnezzar and points directly to not worshipping the image of the Beast - (Rev.13:15)? Are you watching for the ‘clay and iron Antichrist’ soon to come? Did you know that Mrs. Obama is furnishing her daughter’s rooms in the White House from the Pottery Barn?

   Are you saved and born again? If not, repent of your sins and believe in Christ in your heart by faith and you will receive forgiveness of sins and be saved from hell and become a newborn creature in Christ. God, the Master Potter, wants to make you into a new holy vessel that can serve Him for eternity. But you have free will to receive Christ or reject Him, and it’s a choice between eternal life in heaven or eternal death in the lake of fire. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” - (Rom.6:23). The clay of wrath will be fired in hell.

   O do not spurn the love and grace of God in His beloved Son on the cross or the wrath of God abides upon you - “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life” - (Du.30:19). You can go from God’s potter house to His Potter’s field, and be made anew in Christ and be unmarred. The Potter’s Field was bought and paid for by the precious blood of God’s Son. You can conquer death in Christ’s Potter’s field, a cemetery, and be born again into eternal life and one day receive an eternal body.

The Potter’s Field

The Potter’s Field, vast mounds of soil untilled, lie in decay;

Where broken pots and jars of clay are simply cast away.

The Potter’s Field was purchased once by sinfulness and pride,

Much like the broken pottery, Judas’s coins were tossed aside.

Betrayal’s kiss upon the cheek: His tragedy begins;

The ones He loved, denied Him too. Betrayed once more again.

Laughing, mocking, cruel lies, the truth cannot be found;

As precious blood and sorrow’s tears fall upon the ground.

The Potter’s Field, redeemed at last, was purchased by His blood;

As sorrow, pain and death must fall beneath that crimson flood.

The Potter’s field now rescues souls of brokenness and sin.

His loving touch revives each heart and stirs to life again.

The one who bled and died that day, freely gave His all;

He died for broken jars of clay, to rescue from the fall.
