Passion Supplement 1

Dear Brethren,

Today, Feb. 25th 2004, The movie by Mel Gibson entitled, “The Passion of the Christ,” debuts in movie theatres and churches all across the U.S. It is to true Christians and Bible believing churches and especially independent Baptist churches that I write this letter to go along with my tract.

The Passion of the Christ is Antichrist. Don’t see the movie and don’t have anything to do with it.

The movie is being shown in churches all over America to undiscerning Christians. This movie is a Catholic movie put out by Catholic Mel Gibson and his star James Caviezel is Catholic also. Don’t bring this Satanic Catholic image into your hearts. Don’t be deceived. You have been snared by Satan into idolatry by watching Hollywood movie idols in the theatres and on the idol box (T.V.) in your living rooms, and then in the churches.

They crept in unawares. We didn’t discern that they were images. We foolishly believed that by showing these movies in our churches we would help the people grow spiritually and it would be a useful (evangelistic tool.) O how wrong we were. And how the Devil has deceived us. From the beginning the Devil has deceived people into believing they needed to See idols so they could worship better. It’s an aid to worship, Satan says. And God’s word rings out loud and clear, “Little children keep yourselves from idols.” (I John 5:21)

We worship the true God by faith. We’re saved through faith. We stand by faith. And (Heb. 11:1) defines what faith is – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things Not Seen.” God has given us everything necessary to have faith and believe- a preacher and the Word of God. “And how shall they hear without a preacher?” “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:15+17) It’s not by sight for that’s the opposite of faith. We must have faith in Christ and believe God’s Word without seeing him. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Cor.5:7). Don’t follow after this Catholic movie – it’s idolatry. Catholic idolaters have used “Passion Plays” on good Friday for centuries along with their idols. And it’s all now coning together with this movie idol Mel Gibson and his movie image of Christ called, “The Passion of the Christ.” The Devil will use this walking, talking image to snare non-Catholics more deeply into the Catholic harlot. “What? Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two saith he, shall be one flesh.” (I Cor.6:16). Becoming one is spelled- ‘Ecumenical.’

Independent Baptist brethren and preachers, earnestly contend for the faith in these end days. Throw all these movie images and T.V. images out of your homes and churches and lives. Get serious with God. And we need to have out preachers quit being actors and entertainers when they preach. We have preachers who jump up and down behind pulpits and run up and down aisles and slam doors and pulpits and ‘act out’ sermons. Some even wear a costume and dress up like Satan to preach on hell. We need to quit acting and get back to preaching. It’s not how you preach, it’s what you preach. Study the Bible not acting.

This Passion movie is just Satan’s capstone on all these Catholic ‘Passion Plays’ of the last centuries. It’s the most deadly image of all because it’s a walking, talking image with professional actors, and because it’s coming into non-Catholic churches and it’s not discerned as an image.

The movie has some truth and much error mixed together in typical Hollywood and Roman Catholic fashion. Errors like Veronica wiping the face of Jesus on the way to Calvary. And throwing Jesus off a bridge and Pilate’s wife bringing many linen cloths. And of course most of the movie is seen through the eyes of Mary, the

mother of Jesus promoting Catholic Mariolatry. Is this what you want to teach your people? Put the King James Bible in your hand and preach the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Don’t walk on the road to Rome and ruin. You don’t need this movie idol quoting the Catholic bible with its 73 books in it. Preach the truth to your people. For God will hold you responsible. Be a good shepherd and warn the sheep, don’t join with the wolves. Amen and Amen.
