The Holy Spirit: God’s Revealing Lightbulb
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God” – (I Cor.2:10).
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: for he will shew you things to come” – (Jn.16:13).
Jesus says that we who have been born again of the Holy Spirit are the light of the world – (Mt.5:14). He is the light of the world and we who are a part of the body of Christ are also light in a dark world. “…I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” – (Jn.8:12). We shine as spiritual lights in a wicked world of darkness and sin – “…in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” – (Phil.2:15). Again – “…who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” – (I Pet.2:9).
I began to think about my salvation on
For the last 36 years I’ve spent hours every day reading and studying and meditating on the scripture as the Holy Spirit, the Supreme Teacher taught me Bible truth. He brought me from a newborn babe in Christ one year at a time, always taking me deeper and deeper into God’s Word of truth and I grew up in the Lord. God ‘revealed’ all this truth to me by His Spirit as He took me into the deep things of God. It’s like the Holy Spirit is a giant ‘reveal light bulb’ revealing and shedding light on the Word of God and shewing me truth. God enlightened my inner darkness, my inner eyes and understanding – (Ps.18:28 – 19:8) and (Eph.1:18).
The natural, unsaved man cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God – “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” – (I Cor.2:14).
The revealing is an uncovering, a disclosure or unveiling of things that were darkened but now God has shed light on it. That which was previously concealed is now revealed. Revelation is spiritual illumination not an intellectual finding. We are enlightened and illuminated by the Holy Spirit, the Great Teacher and revealer of the scriptures – “After you were illuminated” – (Heb.10:32). And when God reveals things to us we are to be His witness of this light to others. We are to preach and teach the light by word of mouth, the spoken Word, and the written Word, either in books, tracts, tapes, magazines, or on the Web. We are to edify and build up the body of Christ and save souls. We are to “Publish and conceal not” – (Jer.50:2).
In fact one whole book in the Bible is called ‘the Revelation.’ It’s not the revelation of John, but “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servant things which must shortly come to pass…” – (Rev.1:1). The book of Revelation reveals to us the day of God’s wrath upon all the unbelieving, unsaved people on this earth who have spurned the marvelous grace of God in His beloved Son on the cross. “Or despiseth thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasures up unto thyself wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God” – (Rom.2:4).
Revelation is the most difficult book of the Bible to understand for unbelievers who do not have the light of Christ and the Holy Spirit in them. All born again Christians need to read it and study it as God promises a special blessing to those who do. But having said that, the greater and deeper and more mature Christian will be able to discern the book much better. You see, the Book of Revelation is the 66th book of the Bible where we find Mr. 666, and it comes last. This means that we need to know 65 other books before we get to this place; it sums up the whole Bible. If you’re in the 5th grade, the Holy Spirit can’t reveal to you 12th grade knowledge. You need to have the background of a working knowledge of the Bible that precedes it. You get to know the mind of the Lord as you grow up as a mature Christian.
But even a newborn Christian immediately knows one important thing taught to him when he reads Revelation: he knows how the world is going to end. People are disturbed today seeing what is happening in the world; it is a dark picture and they wonder how it’s going to work out. Well, all I do is turn to the last book of the Bible, and when I read it, I find it’s going to work out all right – for a true Christian that is. The devil is having a high holiday in the world, but God is going to work it out. God has never lost control. And He is moving to the time when He is soon going to place His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ upon the throne of earth and He will rule as emperor forever and ever. The world is in a desperate condition. However, I’m no pessimist because I’m saved and I’ve read the Book of Revelation and I know how it’s all going to turn out.
I say to every saved saint of God – “Don’t you worry. It’s going to work out all right. God and His saints will come out on top. When you’re saved you’re a winner. It might appear that we’re losing now, but we will win later. Be saved and then you’ve made preparation for the end of the world. Revelation reveals this to us.
Daniel the prophet knew what it was to have God reveal the secrets of the Bible to him. In (Dan.2) we find the world ‘reveal’ six times as God reveals the secret of Nebuchadnezzar’s image dream to him for our edification today. “Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him” – (Dan.2:20,22). Daniel knew all about Gods’ reveal light bulb and how God gave him light and revealed the dream of the king. Daniel said – “But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets…” – (vs.28). This revealing in Daniel shows us that it is the O.T. book of revelation and that as we study it together with the N.T. book of Revelation it give us a much clearer picture of these end times. Daniel means ‘God is judge’ and helps us to understand the judgment of God in Revelation.
The Holy Spirit will reveal mysteries of the Bible to you. Some people like to read mystery stories, a piece of fiction dealing with the solution of a mysterious crime. Well, the Bible is the best mystery book in this world, and it’s not fiction, it’s true mystery. We Christians are like detectives and we find out Spiritual truths in the Bible by the revelation of the Holy Spirit within us. “How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery… Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ. Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit” – (Eph.3:3-5). Bible mysteries are Divine secrets and the word is found 27 times only in the N.T. It was something not revealed in the O.T. and therefore unknown or concealed from man. “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints” – (Col.1:26). And the Holy Spirit is the teacher and revealer of Bible mysteries to the born again saints.
There are two great Bible mysteries that God
is revealing to his saints today: the mystery of “MYSTERY,
We will have two beasts that will head up
Are you saved and born again? If not repent of your sins and by faith believe on the Lord Jesus in your heart and you will receive forgiveness of sins and became a new born again creature in Christ. No Catholic priest can forgive your sins. Only our High priest, the Lord Jesus Christ who is God, can forgive your sins. “Who can forgive sins but God only” – (Mk.2:7). And the Lord Jesus said – “Thy sins be forgiven thee” – (Mk.2:9). “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” – (I Jn.1:9).
O do not spurn the love and mercy and grace of God in His beloved Son on the cross or the wrath of God abideth on you. “He that beliveth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” – (Jn.3:36). Soon the rapture trumpet will sound and the church will be translated and taken out of this world and then the two Beasts will be revealed. Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth. ”For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time” – (Rev.12:12).
Born again describes what happens to you when you’re truly saved. You become a new holy creature in Christ. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” – (2 Cor.5:17). Our old man is crucified with Christ on the cross and you become a new holy man indwelt by the Holy Spirit. “…our old man is crucified with him…” – (Rom.6:6).
Be born again and the Holy Spirit, God’s revealing light bulb, will be in you.
