Wicked New Orleans

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them: and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood…” – (Rev. 6:5,11,13,14).

“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eight person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; and delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked” – (2 Pet.2:5-7).

After seeing the pictures and reading of the tragedy that befell New Orleans, my heart goes out to those who survived the flood and to those who lost loved ones. On August 28, 2005, Hurricane Katrina blew through New Orleans with a surge of water and tore part of the flood levees out and the city was flooded with water from Lake Pontchartrain. The 100,000 people that had remained in the city suffered death and hunger and thirst and fear and help was slow to come. In the aftermath of Katrina, we watched looters rob and plunder and kill and we are justifiably upset. Soldiers of the National Guard were called in to restore order and help as anarchy and lawlessness became rampant. This was the worst behavior that we have seen in the aftermath of tragedies anywhere. Mississippi and Alabama were also hit hard.

Character is what we are in the dark and the character of New Orleans was shown plainly in their hour of darkness to the world – New Orleans is a wicked city. It has had a well deserved reputation for wickedness for 200 years. And it has been getting more wicked recently. It has become so proud in their wickedness that they take a perverse pride in their wickedness and even advertise it in order to make money. In New Orleans sinners are called saints and evil is good. “Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” – (Is. 5:20). No town deserves the title ‘wicked’ as New Orleans does. No town serves up the wicked and wild like them, offering a smorgasbord of alcohol and evil unrivaled in the U. S. And we have thousands of tourists who go there to revel in their wickedness with them. The city is filled with voodoo and occultism and demonology and all the works of Satan and his evil spirits which are an abomination to a holy God. One man there said – “It’s sin and degradation and we love it.”

One dear brother in the Lord, a preacher of righteousness, Micheal Marcavage said and I quote – “Just days before ‘Southern Decadence’ an annual homosexual celebration attracting tens of thousands of people to the French Quarter section of New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina destroys the city”. ‘Southern Decadence’ has a history of filling the French Quarter section of the city with drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets and bars. Last year, a local pastor sent video footage of sex acts being performed in front of police to the mayor and city council and the media. City officials simply ignored the footage and continued to welcome and praise the weeklong celebration as being an ‘exciting event.’ However, Hurricane Katrina has put an end to the annual celebration of sin.

On the official ‘Southern Decadence’ website it stated that the annual event brought in ‘125,000 revelers’ to New Orleans last year, increasing by thousands each year, and up from ‘over 50,000 revelers’ in 1997. This years 34th annual – ‘Southern Decadence’ was set for Wednesday, August 31, 2005, but due to massive flooding and the damage left by the hurricane Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco has ordered everyone to evacuate the city.

The past three mayors of New Orleans, including Sidney Bartholomew and C. Ray Nagin, issued official proclamations welcoming visitors to ‘Southern Decadence.’ Additionally, the New Orleans city council made other proclamations recognizing the annual homosexual celebration.

“Although the loss of lives is deeply saddening this act of God destroyed a wicked city”, stated Repent America director Michael Marcavage. From ‘Girls Gone Wild’ to ‘Southern Decadence,’ New Orleans was a city that had its doors wide open to the public celebration of sin. “From the devastation, may a city full of righteousness emerge,” he continued.

New Orleans is also known for its Marti Gras parties where thousands of drunken men revel in the streets to exchange plastic jewelry for drunken women to expose their breasts. This annual event sparked the creation of the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ video series addition. Louisiana had a total of ten abortion clinics with half of them making their home in New Orleans. At these five abortion clinics in the city, countless numbers of children were murdered at the hands of abortionists.

We must help and pray for those ravaged by this disaster, but let us not forget that the citizens of New Orleans tolerated and welcomed the wickedness in their city for so long, Marcavage said. “May this act of God cause us all to think about what we tolerate in our city limits, and bring us trembling before the throne of Almighty God,” Marcavage concluded.

God has called me to be his Bible Watchman and given me a mandate to warn the wicked to repent and turn away from their wicked ways and to turn by faith to the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness and remission of sins. If I don’t warn them, their blood is on my hands. “When I say unto the wicked, O’ wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” “Say unto them, as I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die.. .” – (Ezek. 33:8,11).

The Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked and I certainly don’t either but with no repentance in New Orleans and the U.S. God’s judgment will fall more and more severely leading into the great tribulation when the wrath of God falls upon the whole wicked world in perfection. The world ended the first time with the flood of God upon the wicked in the days of Noah and it’s destined to end again by fire. “Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men “ – (2 Pet.3:6,7).

God gave Noah the rainbow sign

No more water, the fire next time.

But (verse 9) says – “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God’s judgment has not fallen upon the U.S. more severely solely because of the longsuffering of God in his beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. The suffering of New Orleans wasn’t worse because of God’s longsuffering and the suffering of his Son on the cross. The longsuffering of God spares sinners and gives them another opportunity to be saved. It’s part of His love that delays punishment of men so they may be saved. The longsuffering of  God waits with patience for people to receive His beloved Son who ‘suffered for sins’, the just for the unjust, the he might bring us to God and be saved. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” – (I Pet.3:18). Each of us who are saved is a testimony to God’s longsuffering. But God’s longsuffering is balanced by His perfect justice. Unforgiven sins will be punished, but God’s longsuffering allows time for repentance. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” – (Rom.6:23). With the relatively small death toll of Katrina certainly we can see the love and compassion of God. Even in wrath He remembers mercy.

If we don’t repent as a nation and turn back to the Lord Jesus and righteousness, I cringe at the judgment soon to come. When I consider the hypocrisy of New Orleans calling themselves the ‘saints’, I fear for them. When I recall a picture of Al Hirt of New Orleans blowing his trumpet and playing wicked New Orleans’ theme song – ‘When the Saints Go Marching In,’ I tremble. Soon Michael the Archangel will blow his trumpet and all the saints will be raptured up to heaven and the great tribulation wrath of God will begin. And I’m blowing the watchman’s trumpet with this sermon to warn you of it.

It is written in (Eph.1.1) “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.” There are the saints and the aints. The saints repent of their sins and turn to Jesus Christ and get saved and born- again by God’s Holy Spirit and become holy ones of God. The aints don’t believe and aint saved – amen. The saints of God are His holy people believing His Holy Bible. And it you aint born again and saved, you aint a saint. No Pope can ever make you a saint – only the Lord Jesus can.

God is speaking to U.S. through his whirlwind called Katrina like he did with Job to get him and U.S. to repent of sin – (Job 38:1 and 40:6). The very name Katrina means (Pure-Virginal) and it’s God speaking to U.S. and warning U.S. of our fornication and wickedness typified by New Orleans. The city is now an empty and polluted city because it has been a morally polluted and defiled city for a long time – polluted by sin.

I beseech you in Christ’s stead, be reconciled to God by Jesus Christ. Repent and turn away from your sins and turn to Jesus Christ pleading for forgiveness of sins. Use this tragedy in New Orleans to be born again in Christ and cleansed from your sins. New Orleans council president Oliver Thomas, after witnessing the horrors first hand and hearing talk of Sodom and Gomorrah commented, ‘Maybe God’s going to cleanse us.’ And God will cleanse you by the blood of Christ. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” – (I Jn.1:9). And no Catholic Priest can forgive your sins, only the Lord Jesus can. Turn to Him in faith today and be saved and become a saint of God. We all are wicked sinners in need of salvation by Christ. Be saved from hell by God’s grace.

“The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm and the clouds are the dust of his feet” – (Nahum 1:3). O’ New Orleans do not stop up the holes, drain the city, shore up the dikes, rebuild the city and go back to sinning with both hands.

Wicked New Orleans take heed to this warning!
