Christ: The Horn of Salvation
“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son” – (Gen.22:13).
“And he made the altar of burnt offering…And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it…” – (Ex.38:1,2).
“And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the Lord…And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for atonement” – (Ex.29:18,36).
“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior…” – (2 Sam.22:3).
“And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David” – (Lk.1:69).
The horns of a ram speaks of power and only the Lord Jesus Christ has the power to save you and forgive you of your sins and save you from hell. Like the ram of Mt. Moriah that was caught by his horns and offered for a burnt offering in the stead of his son Isaac, so God the Father has offered up His only begotten Son, the only one that can save us from hell and the punishment for our sins. PTL Jesus, God has raised up a horn of salvation for us on the cross and raised him up from the dead in power also. “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” – (Jn.1:29).
From the time of Noah, who after the flood offered up a burnt offering, and then Abraham on Mt. Moriah, and all the hundreds of years and the thousands of beasts that were offered for sin on the wood of the altar of burnt offering – all pointed to Christ on the cross. “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us… but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself” – (Heb.9:12,26). Only the precious blood of Christ has the power to save you from your sins. Only He can save you because He is the Son of God. He is the horn of salvation that will save everyone who repents of sin and believes on Him in their heart. And every time the beast was offered on the altar, it was between the four horns of the altar – and the horns were made of wood. Christ, the horn of salvation on the wooden cross that points to the four corners of the earth.
There is Power in the Blood
Would you be free from the burden of sin? There’s power in the blood,
Power in the blood; would you o’er evil a victory win? There’s
wonderful power in the blood. There is power , power, wonder-working power
in the precious blood of the Lamb.
Yes God hath raised
up a powerful horn of salvation for us in the house of King David: for there is
power in a king. And so it was written on Christ’s cross in three languages – “This is Jesus the King of the Jews” –
(Mt.27:37). As the horns come out of the animal’s skull, so Christ was
We can plainly see the power of God manifested in Christ’s 33 years of life as a human on planet earth as – “God manifest in the flesh” – (I Tim.3:16). This world was created by God the Father by the power of His Word as the King of the Universe. There is power in the word of a king and how much more power in the Word of God. Nine times it is written in (Gen.1) “And God said,” And with the power of His Word our earth and immediate planets and the sun, moon, and stars, came into existence.
And the Lord Jesus had the same miraculous power and authority. “And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes” – (Mk.1:22). Again – “For his word was with power” – (Lk.4:32). Again – “And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! For with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they came out” – (Lk.4:36): Again – “But that ye may know that the son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy). I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thy house” – (Lk.5:24). Again – “And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man” – (Jn.5:27). He had the power of the horn, even to resurrect Himself – “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again…” – (Jn.16:17,18). The power of God – amen – the power of life and death and judgment also – “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” – (Mt.28:18). Only Christ has the power to save us from our sins and the grave and the second death, which is the lake of fire – (Rev.20:15). Have you been saved through the power of His gospel?
Christ came the first time as the horn of salvation, as the suffering servant who died on the cross as our Savior so we could be saved by grace through faith. And He’s coming again with the horn of power as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to rule as emperor over all the earth forever and ever. “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” – (Mt.24:30). Yes – “Christ the power of God” – (I Cor.1:24). Christ is shown at His second coming, not lowly with two ram’s horns of salvation, but in majesty and power with seven horns of omnipotence, and seven eyes of omniscience – (Rev.5:6). The lamb is “Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God” – (I Cor.1:24).
It is written in God’s Word that in these end days very soon now, God will allow Satan to raise up a counterfeit horn of power, his Antichrist. He will reign as emperor over this earth with all the power of Satan and work miracles. “Even him, whose coming is after the working the Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders” – (2 Thes.2:9). Again – “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy, And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard… and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority, and there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things…” – (Rev.13:1,2,5). Here you see Satan’s power and the power of his Antichrist-Beast represented by horns of power and authority. The Beast will rule for a short time and then be crushed by Christ at Armageddon and thrown into the lake of fire. You will notice the great, worldly, speaking ability of the beast as he deceives with his smooth enticing words.
But the Tribulation saints will know him by the words of his mouth. “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” – (Mt.12:34). The fruit of his lips will expose him to the saints. As the eyes are the window of the soul, so is the mouth the window of the heart. The Antichrist is shown to us as the ‘little horn’ in the book of Daniel. “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn… in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things” – (Dan.7:8,20). We must consider this horn that has the eyes of man and a mouth in it. God is trying to show us something important about the Beast. He has horny “eyes full of adultery,” spiritual adultery, idolatry, like the False Prophet – (2 Pet.2:14). He desires to have the eyes of the world upon him and be the center of attention as they worship him and his image. The lust of the eye includes idolatry. Our natural eyes form an image of things we see, hence, the lure of the image. His mark – 666 – will be between the eyes. He will be called a ‘visionary’ leader and be visible to the ‘naked eye’ worldwide on video. Like Christ, He wants every eye to see him. And like ‘Big Brother’ his electronic eyes will be watching you. He will keep himself in the ‘public eye’, constantly in front of the ‘camera eye’. He and his image will be everywhere, especially on t.v.
He will have a “mouth speaking great things” and be a great speaker counterfeiting Christ – “Never a man spake like this man.” But his speeches are mostly showbiz and acting with no substance. He majors in ‘how’ he speaks, not ‘what’ he speaks. We have preachers like that who put on an act entertaining church members. They act out the sermon and run up and down the isles and jumping up and down behind the pulpit and slam pulpits and doors, and the people love to have it so.
People will faint during his speeches as seducing spirits help him mesmerize the crowds and cast a spell over them. Our movie idols and celebrity-worship have paved the way for him. People will shiver and tingle at the words of this great and moving voice. It has been written about Obama’s baritone voice – “A powerful voice is a god-given sound. Obama’s baritone seems to have that magic. Aside from the symbolism of finding a new hero who might displace the shame and fear that has poisoned American public life since Martin Luther King’s murder in 1968, there is something in the very essence of Obama’s voice – its tone, its timbre, its resonance – that has struck deep chords among Americans and foreigners in this year’s campaign season. Not since King’s “I have a dream speech” in 1963 has a black American moved so many Americans, white or black. Theodor Relk, who proposed that the true baritone is an evocation of the ancient shofar, the ram’s horn that came from Abraham’s sacrificial sheep…”. Obama’s voice being compared to a Ram’s horn trumpet. Could he be the mouth on the little horn, the Antichrist?
The Ram’s horn trumpet is the most important
horn in the Bible and the word ‘voice’ is used with it. The book of Revelation
was given to John in this manner – “I was
in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and
heard behind me a great voice as of
a trumpet” – (Rev.1:10). Antichrist will have a great voice and his mouth
will be on the horn. Obama preached on ML King’s holiday on Jan.20, 2008 at
The Jews use only two main kinds of shofars;

Are you saved and born again into the family
of God? Born again describers what happens to you when you’re truly saved. Repent
of your sins and become a new born again creature in Christ – (2 Cor.5:17).
Surely the Lord Jesus is coming soon to rapture up His church and translate us
up like Enoch. Those of us who have been saved by Christ, the horn of
salvation, will hear the ram’s horn trumpet blow and we’ll hear a shout and the
voice of the archangel and the living and the dead in Christ shall be raptured up. We believed the gospel when it was trumpeted
to us and we’ll hear the blessed resurrection and ascension trumpet blow also.
This trumpet comes from Christ right out of
Be saved by Christ – the horn of salvation.
And wait for His rapture trumpet to blow soon.
