Exalted Eagles

“The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground. Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord” – (Obadiah 3:4).

I have a sermon on my site called “Godly Doves” and I tried to raise the humble dove to his rightful exalted place in God’s word. The dove is the symbol of the holy spirit, the third person of the Trinity. The abominable eagle typifies the evil, unclean (Lev.11:13), worldly, exalted spirit and the dove is a Godly, clean, humble bird. The eagle is a high-flying, proud, exalted killer, a bird of prey and the dove a low-flying, humble bird on the ground – (Pigeons and doves are the same bird). Proud eagle people won’t repent of their sins and get saved, it’s the humble dove people who get saved and born again. As it is written in (I Pet.5:5) “And be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” Only the dove of all the birds shed his blood for sacrifice of sin in the Old Testament. And God has exalted the humble dove to preeminence over all other birds and given it a name above every bird.

The bald eagle is our national bird. It’s picture is on the great seal on the U.S. It’s on the president’s flag, some coins, and paper money. The bald eagle and the gold eagle are the only two species found in the U.S. They are one of the largest birds with wing spans up to eight feet and nests five to eight feet wide and just as high. He likes to build his nest on top of tall, high trees or on high cliffs. Yes, he’s a high minded, exalted bird, and he’s a bird of prey – a killer – a shedder of innocent blood. He has strength and size and power of flight and keen vision. Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey as the national bird because he said the eagle was an immoral bird.

No nation has exalted itself as high as U.S. We have landed on the moon in the landing craft called “The Eagle” and planted our flag of stars there. We have set our eagle’s nest among the stars. High habitation indeed for the proud imperial American eagle.

The proud eagle is called the king of birds and is the symbol of empires that prey upon weaker nations. The Roman Empire used the gold eagle as their chief emblem and the German emperors and Hitler also chose the eagle as did the Russians and the Austrians. It especially typifies military power. (Zach.4:6) “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” It’s not by military might and power, like the Roman eagle and the U.S eagle, but by God’s Holy spirit (the dove) that the power of God is shown. It’s not the militant war eagle but the peaceful dove that symbolizes the Holy Spirit. An eagle even looks fierce and proud.

Our American Indians called them “War Eagles” because they preferred eagle feathers for war bonnets. In (Deut.28:49) God tells Israel that the enemy would conquer them if they became an ungodly nation – it was one of the curses. “The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flyeth…” And when Babylon came in to conquer Israel, it was prophesied by Jeremiah “Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! For we are spoiled” – (Jer.4:13). And again in (Lam.4:19) “Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heavens: they pursued us upon the mountains…” We have military planes that fly swiftly attacking like eagles and our pilots wear eagle wings. We used F-15 Eagle fighter jets in both wars against Babylon-Iraq and Israel has purchased many of them.

The U.S. was once a Godly nation blessed of God but now we are an exalted, sinful nation and only the grace and longsuffering of God has kept the curse from coming upon U.S. and the enemy conquering us. It is written in (Micah 1:16) “Make thee bald and poll thee for the delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle: for they are gone into captivity from thee.” They would make themselves bald as an indication of mourning and grief. The enemy would defeat them and many would die and go into captivity. This is the only bald eagle in the bible and it speaks of judgment in war and especially upon U.S. – this proud bald eagle nation. I’m blowing the trumpet of warning to us – the enemy will conquer us if we don’t turn back to Christ and Godly living and repent and turn form our proud wicked ways. “When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman; if when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people” – (Ezk.33:23). The sword is coming upon U.S.

We especially see the exalted war eagle with empires in the bible that go forth conquering other nations and shed blood like a beast of prey and a bird of prey. In (Dan.7:4) the Babylonian Empire is prophesied “The first was like a lion and had eagle wings…” In fact it points directly to Emperor Nebuchadnezzar whom God turned into a beast because of his proud exalted life – “The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen: and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagle’s feathers, and his nails like bird’s claws – (Dan.4:33). I believe this scripture points to the beast of Revelation – a man with the heart of a beast – a cruel and evil man. He will be the final world emperor of New Babylon just before Jesus comes back. He will be proud and exalted like an eagle. I believe the U.S. is the New Babylon of (Rev.18) and we are now wearing the war bonnet of eagle feathers of our west and acting like heathens conquering and invading nations as an empire and not a republic. A proud exalted war eagle – amen. “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased…” – (Matt.23:12).

The Babylonian Empire is pictured in (Ezk.l7) as an eagle atop the cedar tree as again we see exalted war eagles. “A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colors, came unto Lebanon and took the highest branch of the cedar” – (Ezk.17:3) It does not take great imagination to see the war eagle nation of the U.S.A. in the same exalted way with unprecedented weapons of mass destruction to destroy the world. We make the eagles of Rome and Babylon pale by comparison especially with our airplanes and missiles flying swiftly like eagles.

It gives me great heaviness of heart to preach these truths but preach it I must as God’s watchman in these end times. It’s much easier to preach against other nations rather than against my own nation that I love. I fear for our nation as I see signs of pride and wealth and corruption and see our country decaying rapidly. Corruption in the Imperial presidency and congress with millions of dollars of lobbying money bribing these public officials. And our nation using our weapons to kill people in many places worldwide, not in defense but in offense as conquerors. We are engaged in an never-ending war on terrorists and we’ve become the greatest terrorist of all. We have now conquered Iraq, Babylon of old and the U.S rules it with a 150,000 soldiers and we’ll use this as a threat to other nations who will not obey us and our power politics. Proud, exalted, Babylon – U.S.A. will fall – “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall” – (Prov.16:18). The great bald eagle is about to fall from its lofty position on the highest branch of all nations.

The Lord Jesus came the first time as a humble dove and the sacrifice for sin on Calvary. He’s coming back soon as an exalted eagle flying in the heavens with an army on white horses in power and great glory as King of Kings over the whole earth – (Rev.19:11-21). “And he that shall humble himself shall be exalted” – (Matt.23:12).

Jesus prophesied of his second coming as a “Gathering of eagles”“For wheresoever the carcase is there will the eagles be gathered together” – (Matt.24:28). All the military war eagles of the nations will be gathered together to make war against Christ’s second coming, led by the beast. Then the eagles and other birds of prey will feast upon the corpses of these soldiers who lost the battle of Armageddon – (Rev.19:17,18). And some of these soldiers will have eagles on their uniforms. God’s eagles of prey will feast upon the eagle soldiers of prey as their just punishment and the bald eagle of the U.S. will be their leader. It is written of the Babylonian army “They shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat” – (Hab.1:8). And again in (Job 39:27-30) “Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she” – (vs.30). Yes, Armageddon, a time of gathering of the eagles. God has said to “Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle” against you O Israel. Not old Babylon but New Babylon-U.S.A., the bald eagle empire of the last days – (Hos.8:1).

The people of the U.S. must repent of their wicked ways and turn to Christ before it’s too late – before God’s mercy and grace runs out. Don’t spurn the love of God in his dear son on the cross. Are you saved? Have you had your sins forgiven in the blood of Christ? Do you have eternal life? “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life” – (John 3:16). “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that beleiveth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” – (John 3:18). Take advantage of God’s grace “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” – (2 Pet.3:9).

You must repent of your sins and have faith in Christ for remission of sins – “Testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” – (Acts.20:21). Humble yourself like a dove – don’t be proud like an eagle. Be like Aquila in the New Testament (whose name means eagle) who got born again and God changed him into a Holy Spirit dove and the church met in his house. Be saved today and become a Godly dove and one day God will exalt you – “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in do time” – (I Pet.5:6). At the rapture of God’s saints, you will fly away with wings of eagles with a brand new eternal body – “They shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” – (Is.40:31).
