From Calvary to Cavalry
“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand and the other on the left” – (Lk.23:33)
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse: and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and true, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken…” – (Rev.19:11,14,19,20).
The Lord Jesus came the first time to be our Savior by being crucified for our sins on the cross of Calvary, and He’s coming again soon in glory as a mighty emperor, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, with a mighty army of Cavalry of saints all dressed in white, riding on white horses to defeat the Antichrist-Beast and his armies at Armageddon. He will go from Calvary to Cavalry, from suffering to glory – “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings: that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” – (I Pet.4:13). We also that have been saved by Christ at Calvary will return with Christ in glory riding in his Cavalry – we also shall go from Calvary to Cavalry. We shall not be wearing olive drab but white linen because we have been made righteous in Christ, white linen is the righteousness of saints.
And one of the Cavalry men will be the thief that was saved dying on the cross of Calvary next to his Lord. And each one of us saints has been spiritually crucified with Christ on Calvary, we have died and been born again unto newness of life in Christ, a new creature in Christ. We suffer in Christ’s army now by the hand of our giant enemy Satan and his wicked children, but one day we return back to earth in glory as a part of the greatest Cavalry of army on horseback ever seen – a flying Cavalry. We shall have new glorified, incorruptible bodies that cannot die, and behind our glorious Commander-in-Chief, we shall not shed one drop of blood. Our time of suffering is over, now comes the glory. O, to return with Christ to earth as a part of his flying Cavalry, O what a glorious day that shall be.
Christ rode to His suffering on Calvary on a baby ass – “…behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation: lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass” – (Zech.9:9). Meek and lowly Jesus, riding a baby ass as our Savior to Calvary at His first coming, to coming back as an emperor over the whole earth, riding a great white, flying war stallion at the head of His saved army of saints – His heavenly, flying Cavalry. The first flying Cavalry, and I don’t mean helicopters. That’s probably what Christ’s army of saints will call it – “the first flying Cavalry division” – amen. O to be a part of this greatest army in world history – who conquered the armies of the Beast at Armageddon. Perhaps we will wear a ‘flying white horse shoulder patch,’ and celebrate ‘Armageddon Day’ as a holiday each year. This day will also be the true ‘Armistice Day’ as weapons of war shall be no more – “…and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore” – (Is.2:4).
God’s picture of peace and no more war is the farm. After Armageddon, when the Prince of Peace returns, then there will be “Peace on earth, goodwill toward men.” The instruments of war shall be converted into implements of husbandry. Think of all the husbands in world history that have left the farms and gone off to war and wounding and death. Think of all the farms and farm animals destroyed by weapons of war. God is describing for us an idyllic scene, a pastoral scene of peace and contentment on a farm. This millennium farm scene of peace reverts back to the Garden of Eden before sin and death and war entered into the hearts of men – for a farm is also a garden. Find your peace with God through Christ in the garden of Calvary.
Will you be a part of Christ’s first flying Cavalry army coming back to live on a peaceful earth of justice and righteousness and no more war? Have you made peace with God through His beloved Son on the cross? “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” – (Rom.5:1). Are you saved and born again? If not, repent of your sins and believe in Christ in your heart by faith, and you will receive forgiveness of sins and be saved from hell, and become a new creature in Christ having eternal life. Jesus said, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” – (Jn.3:6,7).
The Lord is savior and the Lord is a man of war – the Lord of hosts.
