Beastly Empires

“And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. (Dan.7:3).The first was like a lion…(vs.4) And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear…(vs.5) After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard…(vs.6) After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.”Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.”- (Dan.7:3-7 and vs.23)

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority (Rev.13:1-2)

Beastly empires have devoured the earth from the beginning of history to this 20th century. This includes the British empire and Japanese empire and Hitler’s third Reich (empire) and now includes the American empire. The world admires empires but God pictures empires and emperors as devouring beasts. There is no such thing as a good empire. All are evil beasts in God’s eyes and he shows us this in (Dan.7) and (Rev.13).

The last empire of the beast in (Rev.13) before Jesus comes back, is not only a beastly empire but its emperor is called “the beast”. A man like emperor Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon who was given a heart of a beast by God and who lived like a beast. (Both Emperors and his empires are beasts.) They devour much flesh including their own soldiers’ flesh as well. The beast will be the cruelest emperor of all. Every person on earth who will not worship him and receive his mark (666), will be killed. He especially wars against the great tribulation saints because he has Satan’s power and he is indwelt by Satan.

Notice in (Rev.13) and see how the beast is a composite of all four beasts of (Dan.7). He’s like a leopard, lion, bear, and he has seven heads and ten horns. The four beasts of (Dan.7) have a total of seven heads. He’s a composite beast and will incorporate all the important characteristics of the former empires of history. He will eliminate the negative aspects and accentuate the positive aspects of an empire to become the greatest and cruelest empire in history.

I believe the beast is the American president and the current American empire points to his soon appearing. The American empire is a ravenous beast. Rather than having the character of a saint (as the America-the- beautiful crowd believes) America’s real character is that of a beast. The U.S. is an evil, destructive predator that stalks the world looking for other nations and people to devour. America is acting like a rogue nation – like a beast or a rogue (republican) elephant that separates itself from the herd and roams alone, being vicious and destructive and blood thirsty. We have separated from the rest of the U.N. and acting like a beast devouring much flesh and seeking prey. Several books are out about the U.S. being a rogue nation and it’s true – and it fits the bible perfectly.

We are moving further and further away from the Lord Jesus and the Word of God and our godly Pilgrim Puritan foundation and are becoming more and more evil. Judgment is coming soon. It seems ironic that the ‘Republican” party is the one now making us an ‘empire.’

In (Dan.7:1-7) are four great beasts that Daniel saw in his dream and they represent the same world empires that were represented by the gold, silver, brass, iron and clay of the great image of (Dan.2). The four beasts are four empires that rule the world and are examples of all empires that have ever been on planet earth – even though they prophecy particularly of Babylon, Media – Persia, Greece and Rome and the revived Roman empire of antichrist.

The image chapter of (Dan2) and the beast chapter in (Dan.7) points directly to the image of the beast in (Rev.13). The worldwide worship of the beast and his image in (Rev.) is the last emperor worship on earth. Why two different prophecies of the same empires? Nebuchadnezzar’s image dream in (Ch.2) presents the prophecy from worldly, unsaved man’s viewpoint, looking upon the empires as beautiful and glorious. They see nothing wrong with their army murdering thousands of people to enlarge their empire and committing idolatry. (Dan.7) sees the empires from God’s viewpoint, as wild beasts, blood thirsty, cruel, vicious, and devouring like a huge beast.

Unsaved, worldly man is always trying to copy-cat the Lord Jesus Christ and his world empire that comes at His second coming where He comes back as King of Kings (emperor). Nebuchadnezzar was the first king of kings and emperor. And like Nebuchadnezzar, pride is what makes antichrist a beastly emperor that says like Lucifer, “I will be like the most high.” (Is.14:14).

The fourth beast is exceedingly dreadful and terrible and strong. Like the Roman Empire, the last empire of antichrist (the beast), will be the strongest and most dreadful and terrible of all. Terrible comes from the word terror and all over the world the U.S. is waging a perpetual war on terror and thus we are the greatest terror of all. From 725 foreign military bases and 969 homeland bases we have become the most powerful military the world has ever seen. Yes, we are exceedingly strong. In the last two years we have conquered and occupied Afghanistan and Iraq (right out of Daniel’s Old Testament Babylon). Our war on terror is bringing terror and death worldwide. We have devoured much flesh already. In our pre-emptive war of offense and aggression we have killed thousands, but we don’t care about them only about American deaths.

It is written of the beast in (Rev.13:4) – “Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” -nobody can make war with U.S. We have enough firepower to destroy the world several times over and it’s all in the hands of one man, the President. You cannot have an empire without a strong army. You cannot devour other smaller, weaker nations as prey unless you have a huge military. Militarism and imperialism are Siamese twins joined at the hip. Empires depend upon large standing armies and the money to sustain them. A military not for national defense but for vested interests. Not for defense of our homeland, but to sustain and enlarge our empire abroad. We are closing military bases here in our homeland and building more around the world to protect and increase our empire. We are now dominating other people largely because we have the power to do so. As it is written about Antichrist – “And he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” (Rev.6:2).

Now we are hearing about our 20,000 mercenaries in Iraq. Like the Roman Empire, we are hiring foreigners to fight our wars for us and calling them ‘contractors.’ Yes, the beast in (Dan.7) “Stamped the residue with the feet and tread it down,” and now we see America’s ‘footprint’ around the world. Like the Romans from the leg of Italy who sent their imperial soldiers (leg-ions) around the world, the U.S. is the feet and our ‘footprints’ are everywhere (Dan.2:41).

But the last U.S.A. Empire will be crushed in battle by Emperor Jesus Christ at his second coming. He comes back as a man of war – the smiting stone of (Dan.2) that crushes the empire of the beast on his clay feet. He comes back as the true and last eternal empire, an empire of righteousness and justice and true judgment. He’s the eternal King of Kings. “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” (Rev.19:16) Christ shall have dominion over land and sea, and earth’s remotest regions shall his empire be. He will rule over the true world empire – the entire earth. His enemies will be made his footstool and we his saints will be little kings and will rule and reign with our emperor over this earth. A theocracy ruled by God. Holiness will cover the earth. Peace and no more war. This is the Pax Christa – Peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. The one who gave peace in human hearts will bring peace on earth. Pax Americana won’t give lasting peace but the emperor the Lord Jesus Christ will, - “In the day of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed.” _ (Dan.2:44). And his kingdom shall stand forever, - “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ: and he shall reign forever and ever.” (Rev.11:15). Amen and Amen.

Make sure you’re saved today. Repent of your sins and believe on Christ in your heart for remission of sins. You must be born again. Make sure your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Then you can be a part of God’s Kingdom, the empire of the Lord Jesus Christ when he comes back as world emperor.
